Quick Mill Aquila Instant Stability Profi – Rotary, Plumbable, and Ready Fast

The Aquila has always been the machine for people who want the whole package at home: a rotary pump, the option to plumb straight into the water line, a proper hot water tap alongside the steam wand, and enough steam to run a household. The Instant Stability version adds the thing that was still missing β€” a short warm-up.

Underneath sits a 1.8L insulated stainless steel heat exchange boiler and a professional E61 brew group in chromed brass, so you brew and steam simultaneously without either one robbing the other. The PID lets you set brew temperature to suit the bean, and a double-scale manometer shows boiler and brew pressure together so you can see what the machine is doing while you learn it.

What sets the Aquila apart in Quick Mill's range is the rotary pump. It is quieter than any vibration pump machine, it holds pressure dead steady through the shot, and you can adjust brew pressure yourself from the side panel with a screwdriver β€” no service call, no panels off. Connect it to mains water or run it from the 3L tank, and change your mind later.

The detail:

  • Instant Stability fast heat-up: Quick Mill's thermal management system gets the machine to brew-ready far sooner than a conventional heat exchanger, and holds temperature between shots rather than drifting.
  • Rotary pump, adjustable from the side panel: Near-silent operation and steady pressure, with brew pressure adjustable without dismantling anything.
  • Tank or plumbed: Run from the 3L reservoir or connect directly to mains water. Both are supported out of the box.
  • Professional E61 group in chromed brass: Die-cast with water circulating continuously through it, so group temperature stays put between shots.
  • 1.8L insulated stainless steel boiler: Heat exchange design. Pull espresso and steam milk at the same time, with steam that holds through back-to-back milk drinks.
  • PID brew temperature control: Set the temperature to suit a light natural or a dark blend and it stays there.
  • Anti-burn steam wand and hot water tap: Both stainless and encapsulated so you can handle them safely. The hot water tap means tea and americanos without a kettle.
  • Double-scale manometer: Boiler pressure and brew pressure on one dial.
  • Automatic boiler refill: Electronic level sensor keeps the boiler topped up without you thinking about it.
  • Empty-tank protection: A solenoid sensor detects low water, sounds an alarm, and cuts both the heating element and the pump before either can be damaged.
  • Standby mode: Drops the machine to low power when it is idle.
  • Stainless steel cup warmer: Cups ready and warm on top.
  • Expansion valve: Manages brew pressure through the extraction for a more controlled shot.
  • New styling with LED lighting: The restyled Aquila body in matte white or matte black.

Aquila Instant Stability or Rubino Plus Instant Stability?

Both use Quick Mill's Instant Stability system and both are 1.8L heat exchangers. The Aquila is the bigger, more capable machine:

  • Pump: Rotary on the Aquila, vibration on the Rubino Plus. The Aquila is quieter and holds pressure more steadily.
  • Water: The Aquila can be plumbed in. The Rubino Plus is tank only.
  • Hot water tap: The Aquila has one. The Rubino Plus does not.
  • Pressure adjustment: Adjustable from the Aquila's side panel. Not user-adjustable on the Rubino Plus.
  • Footprint: The Rubino Plus is only 265mm wide β€” considerably narrower than the Aquila.

If bench space is your constraint, the Rubino Plus does most of this in a much smaller body for less money. If you want a rotary pump, a hot water tap and the ability to plumb in, the Aquila is the machine and there is no substitute for it lower in the range.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Instant Stability?
It is Quick Mill's thermal management technology, which places an active heating element in the brew group under its own PID control. On a conventional heat exchange machine the group is warmed indirectly from the boiler and takes 25 to 30 minutes to settle. Instant Stability heats the group directly so the machine is usable far sooner and holds temperature between shots.

Can I plumb it into my water line?
Yes. The Aquila is set up for direct mains connection, and it also runs from the 3L tank. You can start on the tank and plumb it in later.

Can I adjust the brew pressure myself?
Yes, and this is one of the Aquila's real advantages. The rotary pump's pressure is adjustable from the side panel with a screwdriver, so you do not need to remove panels or book a service visit to dial it in.

Can it brew and steam at the same time?
Yes. Brew water is drawn through a tube inside the 1.8L boiler, so espresso and milk steaming run simultaneously with no drop in steam pressure.

What happens if the tank runs dry?
A solenoid sensor detects it, an alarm sounds, and the machine cuts both the heating element and the pump. Neither can be damaged by running dry.

Does it have a hot water tap?
Yes, separate from the steam wand and also encapsulated to prevent burns. Useful for tea, americanos and warming cups.

What grinder should I pair with it?
The grinder does more for your shot quality than the machine does. At this level look at a 64mm flat burr or better with stepless adjustment. See our coffee grinder range, or call us and we will match one to your budget and your beans.

Every Quick Mill machine we sell is genuine Australian stock backed by a 2 year factory warranty and supported by our own Illawarra-based service technicians with genuine parts on the shelf. We are not a drop-shipper β€” if something needs attention in year three, you have a real workshop to call.

Pairs well with

We have flat rate shipping for our home coffee machines to most locations in Australia. For some remote locations, we will have to quote the shipping costs separately before sending the machine

We like to bench test our machines before dispatch, so it may be a couple of days before we send them out.

No barista experience needed β€” we'll walk you through it. Every machine we sell comes with setup guidance, and if something's not right after it arrives, our own technicians handle the repair β€” not a call centre overseas.

New to espresso? We're happy to talk through grind size, tamping, and getting your first shot right

Something wrong? We service what we sell β€” real support, not a warranty card and a phone number that goes nowhere.

We Aim to Match, But Conditions Apply!

We strive to offer the most competitive prices in Australia for all your coffee brewing needs. While we're confident in our pricing, we're human, and occasionally, a competitor might slip a lower price past our radar. That's where you come in! If you spot a better deal elsewhere, we'll gladly match it, with some fair conditions to ensure a level playing field.

Here's the scoop:

  • Aussie rivals only: The competitor must be an Australian retailer with prices in AUD and shipping from within our great nation.
  • Brand buddies: They must be an authorised retailer of the specific brand you're eyeing.
  • Twinsies, please: The product needs to be an exact match, brand new in its box, and readily available.
  • Delivery included: We'll factor in the competitor's delivery cost for an apples-to-apples comparison.

Now, for some exceptions, where our price-matching magic might not work:

  • Cashback & discounts: We can't match deals involving cashback offers or special discount coupons.
  • Bulk buys: Commercial quantity pricing is a different beast, so we won't match those either.
  • Clearance frenzy: Stock liquidation sales are temporary deals, and we can't keep up with their ever-changing prices.
  • History can't be rewritten: We can't adjust past orders that have already been processed.
  • Auction arena: Prices from auction sites like eBay or Catch of the Day aren't eligible.

The rare exception:

In extraordinary situations, we might not be able to match a competitor's price exactly. But don't worry, we'll still offer you the best possible price we can, because your coffee happiness matters to us!

So, there you have it! With these guidelines in mind, feel free to share any lower prices you find, and let's brew up some fair competition!

Common Questions

No β€” we show you what to do and how to pull the best shot out of your machine before you take it home. If you're from out of town, we can preset your machine so you're pulling great shots as soon as you unbox it. One small thing to be aware of: there'll be some residual coffee grinds left in the grinder from setup β€” we clean it out as best we can, but can't remove every last trace.

All of our home machines come with a 24 month factory warranty (unless listed differently in the spec table) and all grinders come with a 12 month factory warranty.

Having always bought my coffee from cafes, I’m a total newbie at this whole at-home caper. Daniel was so patient, enthusiastic and helpful. The products showed up within a few days and I was given heaps of clear direction about how to use everything. Saving myself a fortune and I’m really enjoying being more capable, not to mention the smell of my home has improved. Well done guys. Great job.
