Quick Mill Rubino Luxe β Compact, Uncomplicated, Beautifully Built
Some machines want you to programme them. The Rubino Luxe wants you to make coffee. It is a heat exchange machine in a 265mm-wide body, finished in matte black or stainless steel, with a lever, two taps and a pressure gauge β and not a screen in sight.
That is the appeal. The heat exchanger means you pull a shot and steam milk simultaneously, which is the workflow that makes two flat whites in a row possible without waiting. The 1.8L insulated boiler gives you steam that behaves like a cafΓ© machine's rather than a domestic one. And the whole thing occupies less bench than most microwaves.
Quick Mill build these in Italy from full stainless steel, and the Luxe finish takes the standard Rubino and gives it a matte black or polished treatment with the same mechanical guts underneath.
What you get:
- 1.8L insulated heat exchange boiler: Brew espresso and steam milk at the same time, with steam pressure that holds through back-to-back milk drinks.
- Quick Mill E61-style brew group: A passive thermosyphon circulates hot water through the group continuously for consistent temperature, with the natural E61 pre-infusion feel as pressure builds through the first seconds of the shot.
- Stainless steel mushroom: The shower screen assembly uses stainless rather than brass, so it resists corrosion and stays cleaner through years of backflushing and cleaning detergent.
- Vibration pump with 30% noise reduction: A Quick Mill exclusive. Less buzz, more hum β it matters in an open-plan kitchen.
- Anti-burn multidirectional wands: Steam and hot water wands you can grab without flinching, with Quick Mill's ergonomic taps.
- Boiler pressure gauge: A clear 0β3 bar dial so you can see the machine is where it should be.
- Standby function: Drops the machine into low power when you are not using it.
- 3L water tank: Generous for the footprint, with a capacitive sensor and indicator light when it runs low.
- Safety hardware: Pressurestat, vacuum valve, safety valve and resettable thermostat.
- Full stainless steel body: Available in matte black or stainless finish.
Rubino Luxe or Rubino Plus Instant Stability?
Same 1.8L heat exchange boiler, same brew group, same 3L tank, same quiet pump, same 265mm footprint. The difference is electronics.
The Luxe is mechanical. A pressurestat holds boiler pressure, you learn the machine by feel and flush timing, and you give it a proper 25 to 30 minute warm-up. There is nothing to fail and nothing to configure.
The Rubino Plus Instant Stability adds a PID, an actively heated brew group that gets you brewing in around 12 minutes, an OLED display, a second gauge for pump pressure, and programmable pre-infusion, standby and eco modes.
If you make coffee on weekday mornings under time pressure, the twelve-minute warm-up on the Plus is worth the difference on its own. If you are a weekend brewer who likes a machine that is simply a machine, the Luxe is the better buy and the money goes further in your grinder.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Rubino Luxe have a PID?
No. Boiler pressure is held by a pressurestat, which is the traditional approach and mechanically simpler. If you want PID control and a shot timer, look at the Rubino Plus Instant Stability.
How long does it need to warm up?
Give it 25 to 30 minutes from cold. The brew group is a large mass of metal heated indirectly from the boiler, and it needs that time to stabilise. Many owners run theirs on a timer plug so it is ready when they get to the kitchen.
Does it need a cooling flush?
Yes, as with any heat exchange machine without PID control. Run a short flush through the group before your first shot to bring the brew water down to temperature. It becomes second nature within a week.
Can I brew and steam at the same time?
Yes. Brew water is drawn through a coil inside the 1.8L steam boiler on its way to the group, so espresso and milk steaming run simultaneously.
Will it fit under my overhead cupboards?
It is 358mm tall and only 265mm wide, which is narrower than most machines with this capability. Allow clearance above to raise the brew lever and lift the tank lid.
Is the black finish going to mark?
It is a matte powder-coat over stainless steel. It handles daily use well but shows fingerprints less than polished stainless does. Wipe it with a damp microfibre cloth, not an abrasive cleaner.
What grinder should I pair with it?
On a machine without PID, a good grinder matters even more β consistency in the puck compensates for what you are not controlling electronically. See our coffee grinder range and we will match one to your budget.
Every Quick Mill machine we sell is genuine Australian stock backed by a 2 year factory warranty and supported by our own Illawarra-based service technicians with genuine parts on the shelf. We are not a drop-shipper β if something needs attention in year three, you have a real workshop to call.

We have flat rate shipping for our home coffee machines to most locations in Australia. For some remote locations, we will have to quote the shipping costs separately before sending the machine
We like to bench test our machines before dispatch, so it may be a couple of days before we send them out.
No barista experience needed β we'll walk you through it. Every machine we sell comes with setup guidance, and if something's not right after it arrives, our own technicians handle the repair β not a call centre overseas.
New to espresso? We're happy to talk through grind size, tamping, and getting your first shot right
Something wrong? We service what we sell β real support, not a warranty card and a phone number that goes nowhere.
We Aim to Match, But Conditions Apply!
We strive to offer the most competitive prices in Australia for all your coffee brewing needs. While we're confident in our pricing, we're human, and occasionally, a competitor might slip a lower price past our radar. That's where you come in! If you spot a better deal elsewhere, we'll gladly match it, with some fair conditions to ensure a level playing field.
Here's the scoop:
- Aussie rivals only: The competitor must be an Australian retailer with prices in AUD and shipping from within our great nation.
- Brand buddies: They must be an authorised retailer of the specific brand you're eyeing.
- Twinsies, please: The product needs to be an exact match, brand new in its box, and readily available.
- Delivery included: We'll factor in the competitor's delivery cost for an apples-to-apples comparison.
Now, for some exceptions, where our price-matching magic might not work:
- Cashback & discounts: We can't match deals involving cashback offers or special discount coupons.
- Bulk buys: Commercial quantity pricing is a different beast, so we won't match those either.
- Clearance frenzy: Stock liquidation sales are temporary deals, and we can't keep up with their ever-changing prices.
- History can't be rewritten: We can't adjust past orders that have already been processed.
- Auction arena: Prices from auction sites like eBay or Catch of the Day aren't eligible.
The rare exception:
In extraordinary situations, we might not be able to match a competitor's price exactly. But don't worry, we'll still offer you the best possible price we can, because your coffee happiness matters to us!
So, there you have it! With these guidelines in mind, feel free to share any lower prices you find, and let's brew up some fair competition!
