Coffee Cupping – A Basic Introduction — Coming Soon

Cupping is a method of assessing the unique qualities of an individual coffee bean variety. Cupping allows us to compare and distinguish coffee varieties against each other making it important to be consistent in your cupping method.

Why cup?

We cup coffees to understand their basic tastes. This can help us understand where different coffees can be categorised into blends. Coffee farming is different from crop to crop whether it be grown in high altitude, washed or sun dried these factors all contribute to the overall flavour of the bean.

Preparation

For specialized cupping, it is great to have the green bean, the roasted coffee and also the ground coffee to analyse taste, texture and smell.

 

How to Cup

Our Cupping Course will teach you the techniques of cupping and how to distinguish the many varieties of coffee now available to our taste buds.
